I saw a great video (which popped up as an ad on my Facebook page), about cutting up an old sweater to make a beanie hat.
Recycle your old, unworn too big, too small, sweater(s) or skirt(s) or dress(es). A beanie hat and matching leg warmers from a sweater. The trick is the triple dome. Sew it up or stick with fabric glue.
I would add the leftover bits to make a patchwork long scarf from large squares or oblongs. How about drawing around old gloves or mittens to make over gloves. Waste not, want not. For people with more time than money. Creatives.
